Dog Ratings – the most important abbreviations

When buying a puppy from a breeder belonging to ZKwP, you may notice various abbreviations that appear next to the puppy's parents, such as dosk, CWC, NDPwR, BOB and so on. These various abbreviations, and there are many more, inform us what ratings, titles, show certificates, or training (depending on the breed) a given dog possesses. We will try to explain this to you.
At a show, a dog can receive a rating:
- WO - highly promising
- O - promising
- MO - poorly promising
- dosk - excellent rating
- bdb - very good rating
- db - good rating
- dost - satisfactory rating
- ndo - not rated
- dyskw - disqualifying rating

During shows, dogs are also awarded titles:
- Ch. - Champion of a given country, Europe, world or club, e.g. Ch.UK
- Junior Ch. - Junior Champion of a given city, country, e.g. Junior Ch.UK
- Youth Ch. - Youth Champion
- Best Junior - Best Junior
- Int.Ch. - International Champion
- C.I.B - International Champion of Beauty
- National Ch. - Champion of a given country
- Junior National Ch. - Junior Champion of a given country
- BIS - Best In Show, the most beautiful dog at the show
- BIS JUNIOR - the most beautiful young dog at the show
- BIS VETERAN - the most beautiful veteran in the veteran class
- BIS Puppy - the most beautiful puppy at the show
- BOG - Best of Group, the most beautiful dog in the group
- BOB - Best Of Breed, breed winner
- BOS - Best representative of the opposite sex
- EW - European Champion
- Junior European Ch. - Junior European Champion
- World Ch. - World Champion
- Junior World Ch. - Junior World Champion
- NDPwR – Best adult dog in the breed
- NDSwR – Best adult bitch in the breed
- NSzwR - Best puppy in the breed
Certificates awarded to dogs:
- CWC (CAC) - application for Polish Champion
- CAC - application for Champion of a given country
- CACIB - Certificate for International Champion of Beauty
- res.CACIB - Reserve Certificate for International Champion of Beauty
Abbreviations indicating what training a dog has completed:
- PT - Companion Dog
- PTT - Companion and Tracking Dog
- OB - obedience test/competition
- BH - obedience and socialisation test
- IPO - test comprising obedience, tracking and protection. Depending on the level of difficulty, we distinguish IPO 1, IPO 2 and IPO 3
- IPO-FH - tracking test
- PH - German training for a universal police dog
- DPH - German specialist police dog training
- BIH - German guide dog training for the blind
- RtH - rescue dog training
- LwH - German avalanche dog training
- HGH - herding dog training, sheep herding lessons
